STATE DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE Thank you for your support and the unification of the NSCA in Connecticut. I am encouraging all of our members to write, e-mail, phone & fax me with ideas, information or current related projects. My goal is to unify our profession in the State and make us a consistent and meaningful voice at the National Conference. We must take a leadership role in our own backyard by sharing ideas and experiences with our colleagues. I am calling upon all CSCS & NSCA certified coaches to take that leadership role and be a role model for our members. The Upcoming State social and meeting at Yale On May 30th is the time to start! I am forming a state committee that represents all the NSCA disciplines. Strength coaches (college & H.S.) USWF coaches, personal trainers, athletic trainers, P.E. teachers and physical therapists. I am especially interested in educating the secondary school coaches. This inter-disciplinary unification of ideas across the range of our membership is a tremendous vehicle to "get the word out". Regional and local meetings and clinics will be one way of doing this while showcasing our own institutions. Many coaches at all levels have expressed a sincere desire to become involved. We all need support and inclusion towards this goal. This will enable us to bring new and exciting ideas back to our institutions and be better coaches. We need your support in making this a reality. We need to be visible to increase membership and proud of our affiliation. We are one of the only credible organizations in the country and set the Gold Standard for strength & conditioning throughout the world. I am looking forward to bringing Connecticut to the forefront of the NSCA. Sincerely Patrick Mediate cscs/uswf P.S. I have had the honor of being nominated for the H.S. affiliated NSCA professional of the year award. I see this as a state award as much as an individual one. I would like to bring to light the achievements we all do through these processes. It would be an honor to have your support. It could be a first step towards state unity and recognition. You can vote by mail or in Nashville in June. I have included a ballot if you need. Thanks, Pat Upcoming Events Connecticut NSCA State social: please attend a free first time meeting to start the ball rolling. We need your support. This is a giant step forward.
